Overview
With the rise of PWA, a development methodology that seeks to transform the experience lived by users on mobile and desktop devices, presenting applications with native app features, consuming much less space and without the need to install these applications in your phone. Understanding the limitations and knowing better this new world called PWA, we took the initiative to bring these innovations to our service, thus providing a better solution for our users who are subscribers of the operators' plans for prepaid and postpaid. We then started to elaborate and structure this new platform.
My Contributions
Searching for a better user experience, I also introduced new processes for the development of Apps Club's PWA. Starting with the structuring of the components and a slimmer design system, that will be implemented in the new stores in the future. Based on Material Design, I created basic components, but with a high degree of style, making this "new service" have a greater visual impact, putting our content and partners in evidence.

Understanding the project better, I started the documentation of the components to facilitate the implementation of the project. Considering that the service already exists on other platforms, I collected all its history, such as: flows, layouts, internal documentation, etc.

Based on this historic background, I started to develop the components for the new platform, creating an Apps Club Design System. Besides putting these components together, I started thinking about the interface of the service so that the PWA would be hybrid, where users of different operating systems (iOS & Android) could navigate in the usual way.

Foundation

Typography, spacing, grids, and color palette were the first items to cross the list. The typography and color palette were direct, they were taken from the collection coming from Google and Material Design. With the base references for the interface support elements, I generated a neutral color palette to be used in the new graphics, (icons, illustrations, microinteractions, etc). With the base of these references, I was able to make the first model of the new structure. After the approval, I started to plan better how these componentizations would be implemented. Structure of the new Apps Club PWA.

Visual Design

Based on the whole process so far, I developed some brand principles to start thinking about some visual guidelines. The implementation of a default typography, together with the neutral colors of the interfaces, made us create a store where we could explore more our segments, having in mind new market features, such as the night mode for users who are gamers, and the kids section.

We then formed 3 different types of layouts, both for different segments: Apps, Kids and Games.

Apps Club

The best apps and games on the market. Unlimited access to premium apps for a low subscription fee, across categories such as Games, Utilities, Kids, Health, Education and Entertainment

Games Club

Designed for gamers. A curation of the best games combined with exclusive features, such as competitions, leaderboards and much more.

Kids Club

A safe place for kids to have fun and learn. Easily find games specific to their age or favourite characters in a fun way. Also, parents can limit their children usage with a simple parental control feature.

Steps continue

After a long process of studies, improvements and learning, we were sure that this "new service" still has a lot to grow and develop. We have concluded here the phases of idealization, projection, structuring, and implementation. The development is being executed step by step, with all the planning provided. The PWA is under constant construction, promoting not only new features or metrics, but reviewing flow gaps for a better experience. Performance studies are being executed, along with user engagement analysis in this new version.
